Invited Faculty and Chair at ISAPS Singapore 2025
ISAPS (International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons) is the world’s largest and most prestigious academic society in the field of aesthetic plastic surgery, with membership limited exclusively to board-certified plastic surgeons. It is composed of approximately 5,000 members from 117 countries.
ISAPS Olympiad Singapore 2025 welcomed over 1,300 participants from more than 90 countries, along with more than 600 internationally recognized speakers. The congress was held from June 18 to 21, 2025, at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.
At this congress, I participated as an Invited Faculty member, delivering both a Keynote Lecture and a surgical video presentation, and I also served as Chair (Moderator) for three facelift-related sessions.
On the first day, I chaired the session [Intra-op with the Masters: A Journey From Cadaver Anatomy to Surgery – FACE] and presented a video lecture titled “My Deep Plane Facelift.” I explained facial surgical anatomy and each procedural step in detail. My deep plane facelift technique is based on the theories and techniques of my mentor, Dr. Bryan Mendelson, combined with Dr. Timothy Marten’s High SMAS technique.
In particular, the hands-on training I received directly from Dr. Tim Marten in San Francisco in 2012 has been deeply integrated into my surgical practice. It was a tremendous honor to present in the same session with him and to serve as the session chair. All speakers in this session were world-renowned masters in facial rejuvenation surgery, including a former ISAPS President. My approach to deep neck lift is rooted in the theories and techniques of Dr. Gerald O’Daniel, and I had the privilege of co-moderating the session with him. The first day was deeply meaningful to me.

On the second day, I had the great honor of standing on the podium as a Keynote Speaker. I delivered a lecture titled “My Deep Plane Facelift and Surgical Anatomy” and successfully chaired the [Digging Deep – FACE] session. As this session was held in the largest hall, the level of the speakers was exceptionally high, and the final lecture by Dr. Andre Auersvald was particularly outstanding.

At ISAPS Singapore 2025, I served as Chair for three facelift sessions. On the first day, during [Intra-op with the Masters: A Journey From Cadaver Anatomy to Surgery – FACE], I co-moderated with Dr. Gerald O’Daniel, whose leadership made the session run very smoothly.
On the second day, I was scheduled to co-moderate [Digging Deep – FACE] and [Face and Neck: Tips and Tricks I] with Dr. Bryan Mendelson, but due to personal circumstances, the program was adjusted. As a result, I moderated one session alone and led the other with my friend Professor Basel Sharaf from Mayo Clinic Rochester. Both sessions were completed successfully.

To have my name listed alongside giants such as Dr. Bryan Mendelson, Dr. Timothy Marten, and Dr. Gerald O’Daniel feels almost dreamlike. It has been a great honor to learn closely from them and to contribute, even in a small way, to this academic meeting. Since 2019, I have served as an Editorial Board Member of the ISAPS Journal, and starting this year, I am also a Member of the ISAPS Educational Council. Both are core organizations that lead academic and educational initiatives for plastic surgeons worldwide, and working alongside these masters fills me with great pride.

At ISAPS Olympiad Singapore 2025, both the APS Journal Editorial Board Meeting and the Educational Council Meeting were held. We reviewed past achievements, assessed the current situation, and discussed future directions. In particular, the passion and preparation for ISAPS Cancun 2026 were evident. I am honored to be able to contribute to this process.

One of the greatest joys of academic meetings is spending time with colleagues. Global masters who have shaped the history of facial rejuvenation surgery, the MAFAC family whom I consider another family, long-time friends, and new colleagues—all are academic partners, mentors, and sources of inspiration.
During the four days of the congress, I spent most of my time at the venue. Although I stayed at Marina Bay Sands, I never even made it to the rooftop infinity pool. The scientific program was simply too valuable, and the joy of learning was immense. Each evening, I shared dinners with colleagues, with endless conversations. Exchanging the latest knowledge and helping shape trends in aesthetic plastic surgery is a source of great pride. The current trends in facelift surgery center on deep plane facelift and deep neck lift, while interest in high SMAS facelift and endoscopic facelift remains strong. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn from my peers, gain inspiration, and contribute, even modestly, to the field.
ISAPS Olympiad Singapore 2025 was an exceptionally successful congress, and I extend my deepest respect to all who contributed through their dedication and effort. I look forward to meeting again at ISAPS Cancun 2026.
I will continue striving to contribute to academic progress alongside global leaders in our field.
