Dr Ryu's Paper in PRS GO 2017

PRS Global Open (SCI) 2017:

Anatomical Variations of the Zygomatic Nerve in Facelift Surgery

My paper has been published in the official journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Plastic and Recovery Surgery Global Open (PRSGO). The content was originally presented at the 2016 ASPS (American Society of Plastic Surgeons) Annual Meeting held in Los Angeles.

The paper focuses on “Anatomical Variations of the Zygomatic Nerve in Facelift Surgery.

As with any surgical procedure, but especially in facelift surgery, a deep understanding of facial anatomy is essential. It is important to be familiar not only with the general structure of the SMAS layer, retaining ligaments, facial nerves, and muscles, but also with their possible anatomical variations

This paper describes both common patterns and rare variations of the surrounding structures that surgeons should be aware of during facelift procedures. It also shares techniques for safe and effective dissection of the retaining ligaments. I hope this work can be of help to fellow surgeons, even in a small way.

I have a sincere passion for contributing to the advancement of Asian facelift techniques and the treatment of midface sagging.

It is deeply rewarding to have my work validated by a group of leading experts and to be able to share it with fellow colleagues. Though it may be a small step, I will continue to move forward steadily and humbly.
